Mr. Tonny M. Odera leads the team at Bansbury Associates Advocates LLP which consist of two partners, two associates and legal assistants. He has over fifteen years’ experience in legal practice both in private and public sector across the East African Region.
He is renowned for his litigation prowess having acted for a cross-section of clients ranging from project sponsors, public entities corporations and multi-nationals in the financial services, infrastructure, real estate, mobile telephony and intellectual property sectors.
He has led and participated in multi-jurisdictional teams in various corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, disposals and joint venture arrangements. Mr. Odera has advised clients on market entry strategies as well as project development, structuring and financing. Over the years, he has also been involved in the development and drafting of various primary and subsidiary legislation both in Kenya, Tanzania and Somalia.
Mr. Odera holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the Europa University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the Kenya School of Law and also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Haart Kenya & Brydges Centre Children’s Home.
